How SHAC Made History: A talk on the repression of the UK animal liberation movement

Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty was a grassroots campaign with a single goal: To close down Huntingdon Life Sciences, Europe's largest animal testing company. The campaign based in England that spread all over the world brought HLS to its knees. It experienced intense state and corporate repression, leading to its end.

This info night will hear the voices of an ex-prisoner who served 3.5 years as part of the 'Conspiracy to Blackmail' trial and recent defendant from the SOCPA7 case. They will speak about what happened, what was learnt and what next; including for the people still experiencing repression today. They will share a first hand view on the raids, criminalisation, conspiracy trials, prison sentences, media attacks and more.

The night will also be a fundraiser for Sven and Natasha - www.freesvenandnatasha.org - defendants in the most recent wave of repression against those fighting animal testing.
