Come out for the 1st of May!

We are informing you about the grassroots developments "from below" in the context of May 1st, and also to take first steps towards networking, further planning and joint actions.

Basically: Coview (www.coview.info), in networking with other actors* and various groups, have decided independently of each other not to let May 1st pass by uncommented. We will not keep quiet and we will once
again reclaim public space. Of course we will comply with the then valid hygiene and health regulations.

The 1st of May is just around the corner, so we would like to invite everyone who wants to participate in "Out on May 1st" to join in. In several cities demonstrations are registered, there will be committees of supporters calling for action, a collection of protest ideas is in work and there is a decentralised transnational action in cooperation with independent radio stations in preperation, which is planned by us, Coview.

In the meeting we give an update about the planed Actions for MAY 1st. We share infos on how people can participate. Its also a space to exchange and fot others to tell about there plans & ideas.

It is important to act together and in solidarity. As you all know, the current crisis intensifies inequalities and conflicts in many ways. This ranges from the precarious situation of homeless people, refugees, to people who can no longer afford to pay the rent, to the increase in domestic violence, to the issue of labour whose historic day of struggle is May 1st, to thousands of new unemployed, 70% of the "system relevant" work done by women, the situation of care workers, working conditions in the social sector, the situation for art and cultural workers, precarious workers, undocumented workers, supermarket workers, unequal pay and much more.

We also see the day as a day of action to point out the current shifts in fundamental rights. It must not be that economic interests are held up above interests of health or political public articulation (e.g. right to demonstrate). Contents and forms of action can and should be colourful and diverse.

Therefore we invite you to a networking and information meeting on Wednesday 29.04. at 20h CEST. Please send us a short e-mail for the link. After there have been several troll attacks on web-meetings lately, we take this step as a security precaution.

You can also contact us for information just like that. We will send an info-update e-mail to all who contact us, after the meeting on Wednesday at the latest, in which we will give all possibilities for participation
on May 1st.
