The People’s Archive of Stokes Croft is looking to turn the existing archive at PRSC into a resource which is accessible and usable to the public. The archive contains a range of fascinating and beautiful documents relating to the history of Stokes Croft and the political struggles and campaigns that have emerged out of the area during the last decade.
We are curating and digitising parts of the archive, but we can’t do it alone. We need help from others and would love to have the involvement of anyone who is interested in street culture, local history or archiving. Currently the main jobs involve looking through the archive, selecting objects that we feel are relevant, then scanning and labelling them, but there’s scope to get involved in whatever aspect interests you.
If this sounds like your sorta thing, come along to one of our drop in sessions, every Wednesday 12:00 – 17:00 @ PRSC Library. Ring the doorbell at 14 Hillgrove St (to the left of the Space door).
