Anarchist bookfairs are about celebrating and exploring anarchist ideas with workshops, films, and conversations — and books! Bookfairs aim to bring together people from far and wide, as well as local community residents and activists.

The Boston Anarchist Bookfair hopes to bring together people struggling to destroy capitalism, imperialism, patriarchy, heterosexism, transphobia, racism, colonialism, statism, fascism, slavery and all other forms of oppression.

The Boston Anarchist Bookfair explores the ideas of a system that avoids the use of coercion, violence, force and authority, while still producing a productive and desirable society. The Boston Anarchist Bookfair advocates stateless societies based on non-hierarchical voluntary associations.

Do I have to be an anarchist to attend?
Not at all! The Boston Anarchist Bookfair is for anarchists and those curious about anarchist ideas and practice. If you’re interested in any of the programming we have to offer, we encourage you to join in on the fun.

What COVID precautions are you taking?
All our workshops this year, like last year, are virtual. The Democracy Center, where our tablers will be set up, will require masks and have a maximum occupancy to keep things from getting too crowded. Weather permitting, we’ll have windows and doors open as well to improve ventilation.
