🎪 Het BAF-camp gaat door van 20 tot 23 augustus! ⛺ ✊ 

BAF, wat is dat?  

BAF staat voor Belgisch Activistisch Festival. Wij zijn een groep Vlamingen, Brusselaars en Walen die ervan dromen om activisten van over heel België samen te brengen, om van elkaar te leren en onze krachten te bundelen. Daarom organiseren we deze zomer de eerste editie van BAF-camp, waarna hopelijk nog vele edities volgen! Het doel is om verbinding te creëren tussen collectieven, praktijken te delen en sterke duurzame allianties op te bouwen. Tijdens het kamp staat de stem van onderdrukten centraal, met aandacht voor machtsverhoudingen in discussies, etc. We streven naar een horizontale organisatie, waar iedere deelnemer bijdraagt aan het kamp. 
En wat doen we daar dan?
 
Het programma voor het kamp bestaat uit workshops en discussies, maar ook samen plezier hebben, dansen, pootjebaden in de rivier - met de nodige groentensnijderij (en toilettenkuiserij) ertussendoor.  Er zal heerlijk vegan eten zijn, drankjes, zorg voor kinderen, een rustige ontprikkelplek, een bar, met 's avonds optredens en dj's, in een idyllische groene omgeving met een riviertje voor de nodige verkoeling! 

Overdag zijn er workshops met centrale thema's sociale rechtvaardigheid, dekolonisatie, antiracisme, feminisme, ecologie, migratie en sociale strijd. We zullen leren hoe ons als beweging concreet te organiseren, bijvoorbeeld wat betreft media, logistiek, collectieve zorg, omgaan met conflict, tegen politiegeweld,... Je kan op elk moment kiezen uit een 4-tal sessies, en ook ter plaatse kan je nog nieuwe activiteiten op het programma zetten!  

Et c’est tout en français ça?? Geen paniek! Er zijn op elk moment activiteiten in Nederlands, Engels en/of Frans, met de nodige (fluister)vertaling. ’t Is uiteraard wel een kans om een efforke te doen om je Franse woordjes nog eens op te frissen! 

Praktisch: 
Het BAF-camp vindt plaats van donderdagavond 20 tot zondagmiddag 23 augustus in provincie Luxemburg. Vanaf Brussel is het ongeveer 2,5 uur onderweg met de trein. Het kampterrein ligt vlak aan de treinhalte Grupont, dus dat is lekker makkelijk. Het kampeerterrein bevindt zich naast de kampsite, met het nodige sanitair.

BAF—what is it?

BAF stands for Belgian Activist Festival. We’re a group of people from Flanders, Brussels, and Wallonia who dream of bringing together activists from all over Belgium to learn from one another and join forces. That’s why we’re organizing the first edition of BAF Camp this summer—and hopefully many more will follow! The goal is to create connections between collectives, share practices, and build strong, sustainable alliances. During the camp, the voices of the oppressed take center stage, with a focus on power dynamics in discussions, etc. We strive for a horizontal organization, where every participant contributes to the camp.

So what will we be doing there?

The camp program consists of workshops and discussions, but also includes having fun together, dancing, and wading in the river—with plenty of vegetable chopping (and toilet cleaning) in between. There will be delicious vegan food, drinks, childcare, a quiet space to unwind, a bar with evening performances and DJs, all in an idyllic green setting with a little river to cool off in!

During the day, there will be workshops focusing on themes such as social justice, decolonization, anti-racism, feminism, ecology, migration, and social struggle. We’ll learn how to organize ourselves as a movement in practical ways—for example, regarding media, logistics, collective care, conflict resolution, and opposing police violence... You can choose from four sessions at any time, and you can even add new activities to the schedule on the spot! There will be activities in Dutch, English, and/or French at all times, with the necessary (whispered) translation. Of course, it’s also a chance to make an effort to brush up on your French vocabulary!

Practical info:

The BAF camp takes place from Thursday evening, August 20, through Sunday afternoon, August 23, in the province of Luxembourg. From Brussels, it’s about a 2.5-hour train ride. The campgrounds are right next to the Grupont train stop, so that’s nice and convenient. The camping area is located next to the campsite and includes restroom facilities.

Sign up quickly, because tickets are limited! You can register using this registration form https://framaforms.org/inschrijving-vrijwilligerswerk-baf-camp-1782681306, where you can also let us know right away which tasks you’d like to help with on-site, such as a shift at the bar, in childcare, or at the restrooms… The ticket price is a donation-based fee.
