On the 14th of October Zizania social centre was resquatted in the neighbourhood of viktoria. After the reopening we want to bring back the structures of mutual aid we had been building for the past 2 and ½ years and therefore we are calling for the co-organisation of the language and education structure. As an open social centre that aims to challenge the daily of oppressions of capitalism, racism and patriarchy, self education is one part of building genuine structures of mutual aid and solidarity.

The state and private education system promotes a competitive culture and prepares people to become workers in the capitalist job market which neglects the individual needs of the student. The failures of the state education system pushes people to private institutions. these institutions are inaccessible to many people because of racism and economic inequality. We would like to create a communal space where people can explore and fulfil their intellectual needs in an equal and collaborative learning environment.

Our current ideas revolve around Greek and German language classes for adults and an after school support structure. We invite people to an open assembly on the 15th December at 6pm to discuss these proposals, join the organisation of the language classes and share other ideas.
