Zine workshop

https://squ.at/r/3xgo

Veerle and Stella from the band Steekvlieg are hosting a collective zine making workshop @LAG!

What we want to do during this workshop is to make a DIY collective zine with everyone who wants to collaborate. Write, type, draw, glue on paper what you think is cool and then we merge it all together into a collective zine at the end of the day. Of course, you can also bring your computer and design something on that. Or if you want to make a zine about the ponies of your cousin or the backyard of your neighbour, you’re very much welcome.

We’ll bring typewriters, papers, magazines, stamps, markers, pencils, glue, etcetera. Example zines are available for inspiration! Come and let yourself go!

What is a zine? It’s al self-made and in small production published magazine. It all started as Science Fiction fanzines in the 1930s. Zines became very popular in the 70s and 80s; the Punk scene made zines about politics, music, art, etcetera. Zines had another revival within the Riot Grrrl scene in the 90s.
