All donations will go to No Name Kitchen, an NGO present in the Balkans helping refugees on the migration route.

--

No Name Kitchen operates in Serbia, Bosnia, and Greece, in places known as transition hotspots on the European migration route. The main purpose of NNK is to cover the basic human needs of refugees with first-and-foremost, food but also clothes distribution as well as, when possible, the facilitation of showers. The organization also provides sleeping bags, backpacks, tents and hygiene items needed for refugees that often have to sleep rough.

On top of being developed around values of solidarity and inclusivity, the organization also strives to empower refugees within their work by sharing responsibility and participation in decision-making.

In each of the three locations the organization operates in, the volunteers of NNK also simply provide company to the refugees that, without any safe space, have to wait for days to leave for the ‘game’ – the word refugees use to describe the attempt to cross the border (often by foot).

During these ‘games’, refugees are victims of highly illegal and violent pushbacks. When they come back, the organization strives to get them medical care but also conducts interviews in order to document these instances of structural violence. Each month, along with other NGOs working at the EU border, they publish a report that can be found at https://www.borderviolence.eu/
