Misho Antadze | 2019 | Georgia | 70' | no dialogue

Two films to kick off our new season: First, local Amsterdam filmmaker Misho Antadze brings us The Harvest. We learn Georgia, that not too long ago suffered daily power outages, is one of the largest exporters of Bitcoin in the world. A country normally known for its wine engages in high-tech capitalism. In the rural wine region of Kakheti, images of developmental contradiction come to the fore: Grapes grow and cows graze among transmission towers, horse carts are drawn past barns full of computer servers, feeding the speculation economy. An observational documentary that examines the politics of the landscape.

Introduction and Q&A with director Misho Antadze after the film!

If you also watch the documentary Un Amour d'éte this evening, which starts at 20:30, you pay only 8 euros for both films.
