Post-Soviet 1.2 WAR in the Dawn
It is one of the springs of the Great Patriotic War, somewhere far off from the front-line. The Germans make an attempt to get through to a railway. The only thing in their way is an anti-aircraft unit of a male corporal and five young women.
This national horror masterpiece was nominated for an Academy Award, and remade in Tamil, Chinese and Russian, while remaining absolutely unknown in the West.
This screening is part of a trilogy (24 April / 1 May / 8 May) of Soviet films that weirdly reverberate with contemporary audiences. The films are surprise films and the only way to find out more is to join the screenings. Be prepared to a strong exposure to tobacco and alcohol imagery!
