Join Cavia for delightful and delicious free summer film screenings, located on the cozy rooftop terrace of Grand-Café Het Paviljoen, Van Beuningenplein. This year we are screening two classic Spanish language films, Carancho (Pablo Trapero, 2010) and High Heels (Pedro Almodóvar, 1991). The films begin at sundown, so there’s plenty of time before the films to enjoy some dinner and drinks.

CARANCHO
Pablo Trapero | 2010 | 107'

Sosa is a lawyer who’s touring the emergency departments of the public hospitals and the police stations, in search of potential clients for his barely-legal law firm. One night he meets Luján, a young doctor who works the night shift on ambulance duty. The two form an unlikely romance with a woman who tries to save lives and a man who tries to make a living out of it. With traffics accidents as the number one cause of death in Argentina, bodies are currency and a black market strives to get rich from the personal tragedies that literally litter the streets.
