Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Multiple Maniacs, there is a reason why these films have become notorious in cult film history, and this reason is called Divine. The documentary I Am Divine follows the actor, singer and drag queen who was born as Harris Glenn Milstead; an inspiring performer who would have a great influence on artists, designers, filmmakers and musicians. Divine’s biggest claim to fame is as muse to cult director John Waters. Later in her career she would appear again with legendary disco hits like You Think You’re A Man. With her fearless attitude and the tagline “the most beautiful woman in the world, almost” Divine would become a key figure within the LGBT community.
