⚢ FEMINIST PARTY AMSTERDAM ⚧
THIS PARTY IS CASH ONLY, PLEASE BRING ALL YOUR CHANGE, AS CHANGE IS VERY MUCH NEEDED IN OUR SOCIETY ;)
It is great to see how the Feminist Club Amsterdam has grown from a small group of students to a big community of 2000 feminists. Not only have we been connecting on social media, we’ve also made a difference in the sociopolitical atmosphere in our little Dutch society by coming together and organising workshops, information nights, debate nights, protests and other subversive initiatives, while presenting an alternative political movement.
We have written a powerful manifesto and we’ve been working on an advice for the upcoming elections for the different political parties in our “democracy”. In these troubling times, in which fascism is rapidly growing throughout the world, it is great to be surrounded with like-minded people and to resist.
With all these serious activities going on, we feel like it is also time to celebrate. To be together and to have fun and dance! That is why we’ve decided to organize a FEMINIST CLUB PARTY!
On the 17th of February we are throwing a party at DE VERREKIJKER.
There will be music, drinks and art.
As everything will be on donation basis, we ask you to bring some cash. If you are short on cash, you are still very welcome to join us!

Want to volunteer?
Some things to bear in mind:
During the Feminist Party we want to create an environment that encourages open-mindness, respect, a willingness to learn from others, as well as physical and mental safety. Our approach is that we must all try as hard as possible to make De Verrekijker a safe space for this evening. For us this means that we will all strive to make each other feel comfortable and welcome.
Be perceptive of each other. Respect other peoples' boundaries. And if they are not set, ask what these boundaries are before risking to cross them. Good communication can prevent a lot of misunderstandings. There is no need to feel ashamed if it’s clumsy, we could all use the practice.
There should be space for mistakes and time to fix them. If someone makes you feel uncomfortable, judged or unsafe, we encourage you to confront them directly and talk it over. However, if you don’t feel at ease taking this sort of action, of course we as the organising collective are there to help. You can reach us via the bar crew at any time.
