Horsemouth (Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace) is a session drummer who lives in Kingston's Trenchtown, where he makes a living selling records on his motorcycle. When his bike is stolen, Horsemouth and his fellow rockers are forced into a confrontation with the local mafia. Freely adapted from Vittorio de Sica’s neorealist classic The Bicycle Thief and the legend of Robin Hood, this radiant, feel-good film documents Kingston's vibrant Rastafari culture, touching on class struggle, social restrictions and its flourishing, ganja-fueled music scene. The soundtrack is absolutely legendary, gathering together some of the most crucial reggae musicians to ever hit vinyl - Peter Tosh, Robbie Shakespeare, Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs and Inner Circle, many of whom appear in minor roles. Watch the trailer.

Directed by Theodoros Bafaloukos, 1978, Jamaica, 99 minutes. High definition screening. In Jamaican Patois w/ English subtitles.
