On 23 January 2025, the Anarchist Group Amsterdam will host a screening of the film Rise Up, created by Freischwimmer Film and Leftvision. This film follows the stories of five extraordinary political heroines as they face the pressing ecological, economic, and authoritarian crises of our time. Their journeys reveal the courage and determination required to inspire meaningful social change.

The screening is part of a broader effort to draw attention to antifascist repression in Europe, with a particular focus on Germany. A second film, ANTIFA, by the same collective, will be shown in the coming months as part of this series.

We kindly ask those who wish to contribute to make a donation, all proceeds from this event will go to the Budapest Antifascist Solidarity Committee and those affected by the German “Antifa Ost” trial which involves a group of antifascists sentenced to prison terms for attacks on Nazis since 2019. There will also be postcards and pens to write them letters and show support.

The film starts at 20:00 (duration is 92 min) in the Infokafee Bollox (Eerste Schinkelstraat 14-16), the door will be open from 19:00 like every other library night on Thursday. Everyone is free to stay till late to discuss or just hang out.
