Autonomous Student Struggle
ASS knows that the Dutch university has not always been what it is now — neoliberal and exploitative.
Every two weeks, we organise an ASSembly to welcome new people, update everybody, take group decisions and split up in working groups for those who want to take action soon.
We organise as an anarchist collective. This means that all voices and ideas have the same weight and that we continuously reflect on informal hierarchies forming in the group.
Working groups plan actions around ASS’ original and newer demands.
ASS’ original demands were:
Free public transport
Direct democracy at university
End patriarchal violence at university
Decolonize the university
And since last year:
Decarbonise the university
End 0-hours contracts & casual contracts for those working at university
Cops, cameras and the defence ministry off campus
Some past initiatives: film screenings, banner drops, poster pasting, graffitis, food distribution and cooking, zine making, squatting workshops, squatting actions, participation in demonstrations, various socio-political presentations, flyer distribution, and, of course, jointly occupying university”
