Everyone is invited to the joint creation and opening of the ,,Art Gallery on the Palisade”. – we want the fence that surrounds the OCSK Postój to serve as an art gallery to please the eye of passers-by! There will also be workshops and a bonfire that day. And all this will take place in:
Sunday, 2 July, 11:00 to 17:00

We invite the whole neighbourhood community to a picnic to ask us questions, get to know us, sit and drink lemonade together. We encourage you to bring food for refreshments, children and pets are welcome 🙂 .
In addition to this, we invite everyone to create together an „Art Gallery on the Palisade”, which is a series of paintings, prints and art that will be mounted on the palisade of the Standstill Community and Cultural Centre. We will celebrate the opening of this gallery with a festive communal ribbon cutting. Please note, you do not need to have artistic skills to make your work, art is for everyone!

The Postój space is safe and free of alcohol and drugs.

The festival schedule is as follows:

• 11:00 Start of collaborative art-making. We will introduce you to the creation materials and concept, listen to your comments or suggestions and ideas and start creating together. Until 16:00 you can continue your work and take part in the following attractions
• 12:00 to 13:00 Face painting, young and old alike welcome
• 13:00 to 14:00 Sign language workshop led by the Zrób To Migiem group
• 14:00 to 15:00 Workshop on inclusive cyber security
• 15:00 to 16:00 Short emotional appreciation workshop
• 16:00 Official opening of the gallery on the palisade!

The gallery opening will be followed by a communal bonfire feast and social games.
During the event there will be stalls with grassroots handicrafts and stalls from supportive, pro-social informal groups and organisations.

The event is free of charge.

However, there will be an option to support us by dropping voluntary donations into a can to cover the cost of the event.

A call to creation!
The theme for the first season is: „community„.
The gallery on the palisade, is a gallery that will be created on the front fence/palisade built of wooden logs, protecting the OCSK Standstill after the fascist attack. More than 100 people pass by it every day, and even more on their days off. The gallery is created to reach many new people with grassroots, socially engaged art and slowly fill the world.
We accept any art in any form. Without violating the short rules:
friendly to people of all ages, i.e. not exposing full nudity, brutal violence or swearing.

Technical conditions: art must be of waterproof and durable materials such as:
Flat form: plywood, protected furniture board, plastic sheets or tarpaulins (for example from advertising banners)
Sculpture: anything that can withstand water and sun, and that we will have the means to mount.
We can provide you with a 'canvas’ in the form of primed shuttering plywood of any size. We can also coat your finished work with waterproof varnish before hanging. If you would like to participate in the hanging and site selection process, you will need to be at the OCSK Stopover on Sunday 2 July by 3 p.m. At this time the art hanging will take place. In addition to bringing your finished work, you can create your work from 11am on 2 July during the Community Day, we will make some paint available, but please bring whatever materials you need.
