Come on Sunday, March 12 at 5 pm to Komunitní centrum Zdena, where you will learn everything practical and theoretical to participate in the direct action in Vienna and mingle with all the others! And why this event?

The European Gas Conference will take place in Vienna on 26-29 March. The event is organised by lobbying firm BlackRock, with major players in European politics and fossil fuel corporations from Shell to RWE to Uniper pledging to attend, and Raiffeisen sponsoring the conference on behalf of financial capital. A ticket costs a mere 3,000 euros.

Decisions will be made on the approach of European institutions and states to fossil gas. Even the war in Ukraine has not forced states to stop using this fuel, comparable in its dirtiness to coal - Russian gas has merely been replaced by liquefied natural gas (LNG), which, moreover, puts the responsibility for neo-colonial practices associated with its fracking in the global south on us.

We are plunging into a climate catastrophe and all this conference wants to achieve is to literally add gas. What do we say to that? We will stand up to it! Join the mass protests of the climate movement!
