Set in San Francisco in the 1960s, Cryptozoo is a characteristic animation that makes you lost somewhere in between fantasy, science fiction, and horror. In the Cryptozoo, mythical animals live that only exist in people’s imagination. The guards of the Cryptozoo have difficulty in capturing the dream-eating animal called Baku. So the military intervenes in the situation. As we know from history and experience, the military’s ruthless methods of force lead to misery and chaos. By capturing Baku, the dreams of the idealists who can change the world are erased. Cryptozoo seems to be a dedication to the women's and black rights movements, environmentalists, psychedelic music and in addition to this, is an anti-war shout.
