Are we doing what’s required for system change? Mapping Degrowth strategies onto a systemic theory of change & identifying priorities for action

Jefim Vogel (University of Leeds; System Change Systematic; DegrowthTalks;  Our Future Leeds)
Mariana Mirabile (Alternatiba; System Change Systematic)

Degrowth requires system change: the emergence of a new, qualitatively differentpolitical-economic system. But how do systems change? As our current systemcrumbles, what are the conditions, steps and roles required for analternative to evolve intoa new system? We argue this question should be front and centre in informing Degrowth strategies. But is it?In this workshop, we will find out.Drawingon a systemic theory of change, participants willmap current efforts and strategies of Degrowth and allied movements onto the steps required for system change, identify current blind spots and discuss priorities for organising and action.
