Due to COVID-19, this year´s celebration of Día de Muertos will be very different! We wish we could celebrate with our usual community event, but we feel the need and responsibility to take great care during the pandemic.We hope you will make a reservation to come visit our ofrenda created by a local artist and have some (take-away) vegan tamales! Entrance is free but limited to 10 visitors per hour slot from 12h- 21h , to allow people to keep distance, and masks are obligatory inside! You will be able to make pictures of yourself with the Catrinas and the Altar, full of flowers and offers for our ancestors.We have also Story telling with the story of Cocoa, part of the exhibition "Cocoa the Guardian of Life" from Aldo Ramos an Artivist from Mexico. There will be some pictures, and a Cacao Demostration. MENU:
Vegan Mexican tamales: with Mole, tofu, jalapeños. Tomato salsa, Re-fried Beans, salad.
Cacao Drink: This is made with cocoa beans from zapatista regions in Mexico. Cocoa drink is prepared with fresh roasted and grinded Cocoa beans, afterwards mixed with oat or rice milk, vainilla and bit of sugar.

Since March this year, during the Covid -19 pandemic, the public space of Nieuwland has not been able to open his door as usual for events, but rent and other expenses still have to be paid, so we count on your support to be able to keep this space open and running with everything needed for the larger of the Community! thanks in advance!All this is possible thanks to the Nieuwland community and volunteers running the public space and collaborators of other workspaces.
