Copenhagen Underground and Cafe DeCentral presents "Kurdish Lens" as part of their Rojava Spring Solidarity tour on 20 March. “Kurdish Lens" is a program of four short documentaries from four independent Kurdish filmmakers whose stories depict the Kurdish struggle in thematic forms of culture & resistance, feminism and anitfascism. The program itself is 90 minutes long and a list with each film and a brief synopsis can be found at the bottom of the event page.

The entrance to each screening is on a donation basis with half of the proceeds collected each night being given to the Kurdish Red Crescent, to assist individuals and families who are in need of medical support and shelter after the Turkish invasion of Rojava and its continued occupation and aggression. And the other half to the Lumen Union, a direct initiative from Copenhagen Underground which takes donations and uses them to buy new projectors/consoles/speakers and other equipment and delivers them to refugee camps to create safe cinematic spaces. The Lumen Union will travel to Lebanon and Greece at the end of the month where in Athens, funds from Kurdish Lens events will go to support Lavrio-- an autonomous Kurdish refugee camp in the Greek capital.

If you cannot make it to the screening and would like to support the work of the Kurdish Red Crescent, we highly encourage you to make a donation directly of any kind at: https://www.paypal.me/heyvasor
