The foodcoop was one of the first projects of the initiative 4lthangrund, which started already in winter 2018/19. The idea was and is to make regional organic vegetables fairly and cooperatively available for the people who study and work in the university building in Augasse and for the people who live in the surrounding area.

Since then, each season, around 40 people pick up their organic vegetables, Zapatista coffee, homemade jams and more from us. The organic vegetables from a Viennese family farm are paid for in advance in the form of a subscription from a Community Supported Agriculture, while other goods are available on request and on a donation basis.

In conjunction with the foodcoop pick-up times, we have a neighborhood cafe, where people have an opportunity to get to know each other in a relaxed, non-commercial setting and to talk about current events at Althangrund. In this way, new project and event ideas can be developed and implemented.
