Scanathon : Mangrove U-Matic Tapes

Short url:

MDR resident Amandla Crichlow will be bringing a selection of her father’s, Frank Critchlow, personal U-matic tape collection for this month’s Scanathon.
Frank Crichlow ran the Mangrove restaurant in Notting Hill between 1968-1992, which became the focus of much police surveillance and harassment. Most notably resulting in the famous trial of the ‘Mangrove Nine’. We are very excited to find out what are on these tapes and will be screening them as we digitise them. Come along see footage of this iconic restaurant and significant pieces of history of he fight against police racism.
